2014 HOLOCAUST EDUCATION INSTITUTE

July 13-17, 2014 • University of Missouri, Columbia

Twenty-two educators from all over the state of Missouri attended the first Holocaust Education Institute held at the University of Missouri – Columbia on June 13 through June 17.  Educators were given tools and techniques on how to use testimony to teach the history and lessons of the Holocaust. Attendees at the Institute participated in a mix of lectures and interactive exercises designed to spark ideas for Holocaust education and engage students in new learning experiences in the classroom.  The Institute was sponsored by the Missouri Humanities Council and the Rubin* and Gloria Feldman Family Education Institute of the Holocaust Museum and Learning Center in partnership with the National Churchill Museum, Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and the Midwest Center for Holocaust Education.
