Participate in the Heritage Project

The Heritage Project, in memory of Elaine and Eugene Kutten, offers a unique tzedakah program for children celebrating a Bar or Bat Mitzvah to honor Holocaust survivors and the memories of those who did not survive.

The Heritage Project connects the history and lessons of the Holocaust to the lives of participants, who are encouraged to make a meaningful contribution to the Museum. Children who complete the project receive:

  • Information and a photo (if available) about a St. Louis survivor or a relative
  • A Certificate of Recognition
  • Acknowledgement for the mitzvah in the Holocaust Museum newsletter
  • They will also have the opportunity to play a role in the community Holocaust Commemoration event called Yom HaShoah and receive a DVD of the event.

Participate in The Heritage Project through your donation of:

$36 – Spark of Remembrance
$54 – Flame of Remembrance
$180 – Torch of Remembrance

Becoming a Bar or Bat Mitzvah is an important milestone in a young Jewish person’s life. The Holocaust is one of the most significant events in Jewish history. The Heritage Project links our generations, giving participants a stronger sense of our past, a deeper understanding of our community and the powerful knowledge of their role in ensuring the Holocaust never happens again.
