Joe Bright was born on July 28, 1909 in Piotrkow, Poland. During the years of 1939-1944, Mr. Bright and fellow Jewish people lived in the Piotrkow Ghetto under German occupation. Mr. Bright, his daughter, his niece and many other Jewish lives were saved by Zygmunt and Jadwiga Mastelarz and Marian Mastelarz, who were righteous gentiles. Joe Bright came to St. Louis and worked as a cobbler.
